A week of intense family stuff. Mixed two shows for Banyan this week. I am at Axis now waiting for the session to start. Don't know who I am working with. The suprise is part of the fun. Looking forward to returning to Detroit and getting back to my work there. I'll have new songs up after I return next week. Cheers.

Returned to Philadelphia today. Good to be here. Looking forward to sessions at Banyan and Axis. Have two playing gigs as well. Playing with Woodenbox at Doc Watson's on Wed. and on the 5th of October at The Grape Street Pub. Odd being away from our new home, but good to be with family here. Hope to see my Philly crew this week. Cheers.

As the perfect ending to the perfect day I went to see Optic Nerve perform at Cranbrook in the museum. Real nice Detroit Techno. played back live through Cubase and Reason on a Little Media PC. Met some nice people who know the Detroit scene really well. Love that suprise downbeat. Whoo Wee. Check out his website over there ---->>>>> Peace.
4:38 |No comments yet A love Supreme
I met Benjamin Teague, a ceramics artist, a few nights ago at a dinner @ the Cranbrook Academy. After introductions our conversation quickly turned to jazz. Coletrane's A Love Supreme came on the sound system. A great choice for the crowd (I'd love to know who picked out the CD) as the record appeals to a lot of different people. Ben let me borrow the biography of the recording of the record by Ashley Kahn titled "A Love Supreme". Thank you Ben. Reading it and revisiting the music has provided a much needed calm in this stressful time of relocation and change. It has me thinking of colors and patterns in music. It has me looking again for the soul in music. It has me thinking of alto player Mikel Prester, drummer Chuck Cooper, and organist Jarad Astin. All persons with whom I have shared a bit of Jazz. All persons I miss talking with regularly. I'll try to remedy that in the coming weeks. We should all revisit records like "A Love Supreme" frequently to find that center, awe, and inspiration that truly wonderful music can provide. Thanks again, Ben. Cheers.

There is new track in the music section. It's the first that I've finished since moving. Enjoy.

Had a very good meeting with Gerard @ Yessian Music. They are a music production facility specializing in scoring to tape. Very nice studio. A tight and successful team. Thanks to Gerard for taking the time to speak with me. Also, DSL was connected today!

I've created a photo page! The shots I've selected to start with are in random order. Things from the last year or so. They are small so dial-up modems should load the page in about a minute. Hope you enjoy them.

Getting back in the game. Had a great meeting with Chris @ Forrest Post today. Great guy, very nice studio. It's nice to be welcomed into a creative community so warmly. In other news. There is a new resume on my resume/bio/disco page. It's got updated contact info and gigs on there. So go grab it. Thanks to Dan '93' Porter for helping me with that. Been working in the studio on a remake of "Beat of My Heart" in parallel with another version that Chris Niemeyer is working on in Philadelphia. It will be fun to hear the two side by side. Good things. See some of you in Philly next week. Cheers.

Attended a gallery opening at the Next Step Studio tonight. Cool garage space. Interesting work. Some very cool photographs. Wish I had gallery guide, I post a link or two to the artists. Went to a Barbecue afterward attended by Cranbrook colleagues. Nice to be social again. Great people. Check out Chris Landau's site over there --->>>. Very much looking forward to getting to know this circle of people. Interesting how we all had the same impression of Detroit as being strictly temporary, a middle ground, between MFA and whatever lies ahead. Good things. Cactus and succulent society meeting/sale tomorrow. Cheers.

11:27 |Only one comment The word for today is J O B S, jobs.
Have a meet and greet today with a big post-production house. Should be fruitful. Also sent an email to Mike Grant, house DJ/producer. Check out his site in the links over there. Big 50. Thanks to Chris Johann for that lead. His site is great, his label is doing great. Nice music. Tentatively planning a return trip to the city of brotherly love (and sisterly affection) at the end of the month to do some sessions. We'll see...

We're settled into our new digs in Royal Oak, MI. Anyone want to come and visit? All is well. Christina has started putting her school stuff together and I'm already off and running with a new song in the studio. Been cooking three meals a day. Which is nice. Tomorrow I'll be making the rounds and coming up with some gainful employment. More later...
