Any presentation by an artist of their works that begins with "Has everyone had a few glasses of wine? I want to make sure we're all driving the same speed limit." is bound to be an interesting one. Except the talk I attended last night at the Cranbrook Art Museum wasn't. It was boring. I was a little embarrased for the artist. He/She had nothing to say. I was embarrassed for the bank that sponsored the opening, whose executives were in the audience. "This piece means absolutely nothing" and "This is just bizarre" give me no insight. The shame of it is that I really liked the work. I wanted to like this artist, but could not. Oh well. Did you know that there's a World's Fair next year? In Japan. It looks amazing. Check out the link ----> Also, Itamar Meiri, Woodenbox's brilliant guitarist will be returning home to Tel Aviv for a spell. He will be sorely missed. We all hope his abscence will be a short one.

Just had a great meeting with David and Thomas over at Effigy Studios. BEAUTIFUL space. Big. Vibey. NEW API console! HD3 with a 2" Machine on the way. Sweet. Check out their website over there -->. Whoo weee. Thinking of mixing Biggup and Elijah's stuff over there. Hmmmm. Also went to the Magic Stick to see Bull Dog(?) Great band. An alt-country core with some very nice pink Floyd/Velvet underground leanings. Cool place. I also started an algorithmic peice today based on last night's Conan O'Brien Repeat. More on that when it's all done. Looking forward to getting in the studio with Connie at Philadelphia International. Looking forward to family time. Music notes : Vivian Green's single "Emotional Rollercoaster" is so good. Speed McQueen was the best rock band in NYC. It's a shame the labels slept on them. Amazon still has their CD. And then there's Zakir Hussain..........

One of metals best guitarists was shot and killed onstage in Ohio on Wednesday night. Horrible tragedy. Google news has more info. Just a terrible, senseless act of malice. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Two new cuts on the music page. Thinking of a 7" to put out in the spring. 7"? Yup a 7". Still working on Biggup and Elijah's stuff. Kyma is blowing my mind. Thinking of buying an accordion.

Finished mixing Anwar Hasssan's LP "The Undisputed" today. Sounds good. I'll post a few .mp3s after mastering is done. Working away on Biggup and Elijah's LP. Producing and tweaking a few tracks for them. So far so good. Taking it in a cool direction. Live feel, street smart, underground heart. It'll be cool. More later. Also ran into my Grammy Co-nominee Ryan Moys. 1AM east village NYC. Random. Small city. Small world, but as Pieces of a Dream says " It may be small but I wouldn't want to sweep it".
