Enjoyed a good session yesterday with Kara, a very talented musician and writer. We cut 7 songs for her demo. She’s on her way to the WARP tour with Boys Night Out as their keyboard/background vocalist. She has a few very good songs. Looking forward to see where she goes. Which means things are coming together at the studio. The wiring plan is in motion. The B room is usable. Things are looking good. Jon and I are going to a talent show tonight at Club Rain to promote and find some talent to invite to the studio. The event is sponsored by Detroit’s Promoter Magazine. Should be a hoot. The Fuse festival is this weekend. Looking forward to seeing Kenny Larkin, Kevin Saunderson, Mos Def, Adam Beyer and others. Fun fun.

Just returned from an amazing week on North Carolina’s Outer Banks. We stayed in Southern Shores in a beautiful house on the ocean. The water was a little chilly but the weather was great and the wind was perfect for kiting(flew my Prism Nexus, very nice little kite). Check the photo log for some images. Very beautiful. The day before we flew down there we attended Cranbrook‘s commencement ceremonies. Jeff Koons was an impromptu guest speaker. Koons’ work is amazing and it was a treat to see him speak. His comments were brief, the crux of it being “If you have the desire, people will throw you the ball”. I like that. Back to work at Sonic Orchard this week as well as some guitar lessons to be taught. More golf and kiting as well. Yum. Haven’t been spending enough time in my studio, the weather has been luring me outside.

Whew! Pepper plants are re-potted. A grape vine has been started. Grow lights are making the cacti and succulents very happy. Had a great meeting with Dennis from Q-Cables last week about wiring Sonic Orchard. Hope it works out. He does a great job. Just found out he is the main tech at Paisley Park. Interesting… Finally feels like spring is here. Windows are open. Jackets stored away. Plants outside. Ahhhh. I heard through the grapevine that someone found the F word on my site. Where? I also enabled Mod_rewrite so my comment and archive links are ‘nice’. I’ve also learned that there is an issue in Internet Explorer that doesn’t le tit pop the full size images on my photo page. I’ll try to figure it out. In the meantime, I recommend that all my Windows users go get Firefox. It’s a more elegant, and compatible browser. Try it out. Try cntrl + T to open up tabbed browsing. It’s nice. Things are winding down for Chrissy @ school. Which is nice…
