A whirlwind couple of weeks. We returned to NYC and Philly to deal with a death in the family. Wound up spending a few wonderful days aboard my parents' new home 'Day Time'. The photo here features my brother, Jon, celebrating the christening of the boat. Go Jon Go. Back in Detroit Chrissy is preparing for the two summer classes she'll be teaching @ The Cranbeook Summer Institute, and prepping her work to go to Berlin for the Daimler Emerging Artist show that goes up in October. I've been working with Jason Sweeney and Libby Kanan on their music and demoing songs with them. Really good so far. Looking forward to getting Libby on some original material that she can call her own.
We were back in NYC with Benjamin Teague to celebrate Bradley Rhodes' opening at the Larissa Goldston gallery in Chelsea. It was a great weekend. We wound up on the roof of the Maritime hotel, playing music til the wee hours of the morning. The three of us played again @ Chrissy's parents house to a packed living room. Really nice weekend. We're back in Detroit now. I'm soldering my new TT patchbays and looking up frequently. Chrissy is sawing MDF. The plants look great on our little porch.
